EII – Fenders Rotating and Installing
To save time and possible bolt issues the fenders, front panel, support frame and chains were delivered face down in one. This saves a lot of man hours as well as time savings. We had to come up with the issue of rotating the Fender from face down to upright. This was done on a barge using a hinge frame. Using the winch on the barge and a sling to hold the fender from swinging and allowing overloading of vertical slings when rotating the fender was raised using the favco tower crane on the gantry and then released and ready to install onto the front dolphins. Great success and some fenders are in position and in use.
